in seubling rough events cast their shadows ahead. Bamberger archbishop ludwig schick visits the small altendorf parish as part of the "1000 years of the parish and village of seubling" celebrations.
"For me personally, the visit of the archbishop in seubling is the high point of this festive year", this is how church caretaker heribert neudecker, who has been volunteering in this function for 25 years, sees it.
Of course, the visit for him and his comrades-in-arms from the festivities committee and the parish council is connected with a lot of preparations. The exhibition "seubling" planned for the parish hall is still in the process of being set up. Documents, pictures, sacred objects and "censorship arches" will be on display as well as the estate of the late pastor gunter kieswetter will be shown. In addition, the seubling pastor georg gareis (1873-1936) is remembered, who, among other things, created "folk plays" and was responsible for the construction of the church in sassanfahrt. An original primiz picture was provided by his great-nephew pastor otto wohlleber from mistendorf.
In a second exhibition titled "earlier the visitor can then marvel at exhibits from the daily life of the parents and grandparents generation from seubling, for example things of everyday use, household accessories and numerous artistically crafted handicrafts.
Both exhibitions will open on sunday, 9. June, and can be open until the big village fete (22. And 23. June) can be visited after the church services in each case.
The newly compiled chronicle "seubling – history of the parish and the village" will also be presented to the public for the first time on sunday. Even the fact that the 800 copies ordered will not be delivered until thursday does not seem to faze church administrator heribert neudecker. "It is similar with the presentation of the new church leader of st. Sigismund was", he explains with a smile "and at that time everything worked out."
